About the event

Mesh Networks and Devices

What is a Mesh Network?

A mesh network is a type of network topology where each device, or node, is interconnected with multiple other nodes. This structure allows for efficient data transmission and increased reliability, as data can take multiple paths to reach its destination. Mesh networks are particularly useful in scenarios where traditional network setups may struggle, such as in large areas, complex environments, or locations with obstacles that disrupt signals.

About Meshtastic

Meshtastic is an open-source project that enables long-range, low-power communication using inexpensive hardware devices. It is particularly useful in areas where traditional cellular networks may be unreliable or unavailable, such as remote locations, outdoor activities, and emergency situations.
