UCARS Private Channel for Meshcore

I flashed all 3 of my Heltec LoRa devices from Meshtastic to Meshcore. I was wondering if the club already had a private channel setup (Name + Encryption Key)?

Meshcore is completely new to me so I am looking for some guidance on how to setup the client nodes. Does it make sense (is it possible) to configure an outdoor unit with reasonably good visibility to be a router or client base -- similar to what you can do in Meshtastic?

Hey Greg. Yes that makes sense. On Meshcore (MC), you will have to set up a repeater, or have one within RF range, in order to communicate on MC. This is different from Meshtastic where every client node broadcasts what it hears. Meshcore exclusivley uses (hopefully well-placed outdoor) repeaters to send on packets from companion nodes. So if your 3 nodes are all flashed as companion (client) nodes, you will HAVE to be near a MC repeater or set up one of your 3 nodes as a MC repeater in order to get out onto the mesh. Currently I have two MC companion nodes and one outdoor MC repeater at my QTH. So the companion nodes Tx and Rx packets through the MC repeater that is up in a tree and that node communuicates with the wider MC mesh. Does that help at all?
